Thinking about the future in coal regions – What visions do the young generations in Germany, Ukraine and Russia have?

Our project brought together young people from coal mining regions of Germany (Lusatia region), Ukraine (Donbas and Lvivs’ko-Volynskyy) and Russia (Kuzbas).

During three meetings in 2018 and 2019, they exchanged on the situation and their visions regarding the future development of their regions. Besides, they visited places where transformation is happening and learned about potentials that exist for transforming regions regarding employment and sustainable regional development.

The project aimed at helping participants to recognize visions for a sustainable development of their regions as well their own participative role in transformation-processes.

Participants translated their impressions, ideas and thoughts into media products – these are presented on this website.
